Horizons For Youth - Scholarship. Mentoring. Community.

Give the gift of education.

Scholarship

Horizons for Youth's primary mission is to give children from low–resource areas the opportunity for a better elementary education. We provide a scholarship for 90% of education expenses for private school to each student participant. The student's family is responsible for the remaining 10%.

In addition to scholarships, we coordinate tutoring and summer programs to help our participants exceed even their own expectations.

Our Success Rates

Kids who graduate from high school are those who enter ninth grade at or above national norms.* Here's a look at the difference Horizons for Youth has made:

Horizons for Youth's unique Mentoring and Community programs help contribute to our participants' academic and social progress.

Supporting Programs

Tutoring Program

Students who are struggling to remain at grade level are placed in neighborhood tutoring programs or paired with professional teachers who provide individual instruction. Students are identified through report card reviews and teacher surveys and conferences.

Academic Explorers Summer Program

This program provides students with classes in reading, writing, and mathematics during the summer months. Students work with specially selected teachers in small groups to improve their skills in order to return to school better prepared academically. Transportation and meals are provided in order to limit all barriers to the students' success.
