Each child in Horizons for Youth is assigned a mentor to serve as a positive role model and source of emotional support. In addition to attending monthly group outings, mentors spend time with their Little Sibs independently to expose them to new opportunities and experiences. We're always looking for volunteers to mentor a child. These relationships have a powerful influence on our students and help to shape the men and women they will become.
By giving your time just twice each month, you can have a tremendous impact on a young child. Participate in group events, spend time together on your own and become part of each others lives. You'll be amazed at the difference you can make.
“She and I hit if off right from the start. I feel we can talk about pretty much anything and I feel comfortable with the rest of her family.”
– Rachel, Horizons for Youth Big Sibling
As a Surrogate Big Sibling, you would be paired with one of our children for our monthly (second Saturday) Child Enrichment Outing when a Big Sibling is unable to attend.

Thanks to our volunteers, Ari is one of our many successes. She has the following list of accomplishments, and the list just keeps growing.
