Horizons For Youth - Scholarship. Mentoring. Community.

Horizons for Youth: an extended family.

Community

Horizons for Youth is more than just a scholarship and mentoring program. It's a community. It's a social network. It's an extended family.

Child Enrichment Outings

Community

Each month, all of our mentors and participants join together for a group outing. Sometimes we have a picnic. Sometimes we catch a ballgame. And sometimes we clean up a park or pack food for a shelter. No matter the activity, however, it's always rewarding.

These monthly enrichment outings are designed to expose our students to different experiences while supporting the mentoring relationship. Recent outings have included trips to:

  • Field Museum
  • DuSable Museum of African American History
  • Reskin Theatre
  • Journey World
  • Lincoln Park Zoo
  • Ice skating at Daley Bicentennial Plaza

“My relationship with my Little Sib has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.”

– Cynthia, Horizons for Youth Big Sibling
