The cornerstone of our organization is the Big Sibling mentoring program. Each child is paired with an adult mentor who serves as a positive role model. The child and mentor create a bond through shared experiences and develop a relationship both within and outside of the Horizons for Youth community. Big Siblings sign an initial two-year contract in which they pledge to attend the Saturday Child Enrichment Outings and have at least one other contact with their Little Sibling per month. Big Siblings act as an advocate for the child and attend parent/teacher conferences to help reinforce the importance of education. Click on the links below to learn more about our core programs. |
