Horizons for Youth sponsors monthly outings for all HfY children, families and volunteers. These outings encompass a blend of educational, artistic, cultural, civic and recreational activities. They provide opportunities for the children to explore their creative talents and expand their social and cultural experiences by encouraging them to continue the educational process outside the classroom. Outings foster the
development of the Big Sibling
relationship by providing a safe, supportive environment in which students
and volunteers can come to know one another. The outings also provide our
students with a positive peer group. The children support and encourage each
other in their efforts to succeed, and the older students serve as strong
